Unlike existing gene selection approaches, we use a hierarchical based classification approach that selects genes and builds the classifier concurrently in a top down fashion. We also propose a new bottom up hierarchical approach to obtain the most informative genes for different subtypes, while we identify the similarity level between these subtypes. Our results support that this modified approach to gene selection yields a small subset of genes that can predict each of these ten subtypes with very high accuracy.
Maybe, I thought, we should have had the howling winds and occasional snow squalls of the January day back in 1981 when our Audubon group had braved the five degrees of a Super Bowl Sunday afternoon to look for Arctic birds. Swathed in layers of clothes and fortified by hot drinks, we made several stops at windswept fields before we hit pay dirt. In the midst of a snow squall, our leader car squealed to a halt.
16, the start of the Chinese New Year. A crowd of more than 100 people gathered in the outlet center to observe a traditional Chinese lion dance performance and eye dotting ceremony. Too quiet IMHO but that is another story. So climate change could disrupt the eruption of leaves and blossom each spring. But data on the timings of this ‘phenology’ can be scarce. But when Belgian cycling enthusiast and Bioscience Engineer, Dr Pieter De Frenne was watching footage of the famously arduous cycle race in Flanders, which happens every spring, he realised there were four decades of archived colour footage, showing the state of the trees in the background.

When in bloom, the prolific umbels of white flowers light up even the deepest shade and provide a strong, vertical focal point..
The strips aren’t perceptible when the kippah is worn, and don’t need to match the show side. Strips a little narrower (3/8″) or wider (5/8″) are also fine. The seams will be less visible, and the circumference look more finished, if similar in shade to the background color of the show side.
